Anika Noni is an American performer and actress. Her most well-known role is her role as Tiana, the Princess and"the Frog's African-American Princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson, the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni (born June 6th 7th, 1972) is a singer as well as an American actress. She is best known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was recognized as an Disney Legend. The most famous of her roles is the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006), and her performance as LaVerne the Jukebox Ganner in the Starz television series Power. She is also known for her performance in the theatre, particularly in her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux, in the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Musical. She also played Beneatha Younger in The Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) in which she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
